The official memorial for those fallen in
the Yom Kippur War 40 years ago
is being broadcast live on the radio.
This photo was taken at a private ceremony,
the young man was speaking in honor of his grandfather.
I think it is fitting image to remember those fallen during the Yom Kippur War
even though the grandfather was not directly involved.
Also, on this 20th anniversary of Oslo Accord
to remember how many of Israel’s best have died.
But, there is little time for sadness,
Sukkot is coming.
All around Jerusalem, Israel, preparations have begun.
Look up on balconies,
around in backyards,
in front gardens,
and on top of cars;
there are signs of the Sukkot holiday.
After Yom Kippur,
it is a busy time getting ready for more holidays.
Schools are out,
a good time for grandparents to give a helping hand.
I love the sukkah photos! Chag Sameach!
It seemed like they all popped up overnight!
great as usual. where else is there a succah on every balcony and garden? where else is there chanukiot in every window at Chanukah? where else are streets perfectly deserted on Yom Kippur?
where else can one see the beautiful on going stream of men in kittels and taleisim on Shabbat and Chagim? where else can one see the abundant lulavim and etrogim being carried in the streets? nope, not boro park, flatbush, monsey, baltimore, atlanta…
only one place in the world ERETZ YISRAEL. Chag Sameach to all ! 🙂
Thanks! Chag sameach!
Again you did a great job catching the excitement in Jerusalem just before the HAg
Joe Thank you, Chag sameach!
