Shabbat Shalom from the Judean Desert

What a view it was!

The Judean Desert stretched as far as one could see.

A lone camel awaited quietly for its riders.

The sun would set soon. All would appear black in the night.

I don’t often get inspired watching a camel; however, this week, the Torah portion is Lech Lecha.

The chapter read on Shabbat morning begins:

G-d said to Avram, “Go from your land, from your birthplace, and from your father’s house, to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will become a source of blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you.
