Jerusalem: No UNESCO

Absurd.

Beyond belief.

Crazy.

Delusional.

1929 – 1933 – 1947 – 1956 – 1967

1973 –

on the holy day of Yom Kippur,

Arab armies tried to destroy Israel.

They failed.

Over and over they failed.

So they began a campaign to rewrite history.

In Gaza, synagogues were destroyed,

ancient and new, to wipe out Jewish history.

On the Temple Mount,

the Waqf destroyed layers of history,

to expand its control and build new mosques.

The slightest Israeli innovation  in the area

was cause for international crisis.

Now, on the day after Yom Kippur,

UNESCO has entered the fiasco,

giving the Arab narrative a stamp of approval.

Jerusalem Israel

From a new building on Hanevi’im Street,

on an old Jerusalem, Israel street,

one of the first outside the walls of the Old City,

the view to the left,

Jerusalem Israel

and the right may not be familiar.

But

Jerusalem Israel view Old City

look straight ahead to the Mount of Olives.

Jerusalem Israel old city view Dome of Rock Har Hazatim

The Dome of the Rock,

where Mohammed’s horse took flight,

was built on the Temple Mount,

to insure that the Jews

would never rebuild their temple again.

Jerusalem Israel Mount Olives Old city dome of rock

There are thousands of Jewish graves in the background.

We once heard Rabbi Steinzaltz say,

“Yichus is like a potato,”

the best part is in the ground.

The graves on Mount of Olives

are testament to the Jewish presence in Jerusalem.

In the Yom Kippur service,

the words ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘shalom,’ peace,

are repeated over and over.

The latest UNESCO resolution is absurd.

But as Abba Eban said years ago,

Jerusalem Israel night view Old City

“If Algeria introduced a resolution declaring that the earth was flat

and that Israel had flattened it,

it would pass by a vote of 164 to 13 with 26 abstentions.”

Nothing new under the sun?

Shabbat Shalom from Jerusalem, Israel.

By denying the Jews connection to Israel, UNESCO only makes peace harder to achieve. If the UNESCO supports that Arab extremists claims, then there is no possibility of peace negotiation. UNESCO has just restated what Nasser said in 1967 and Al Husseini said in 1920 – let’s push the Jews in to the Sea! But of course the UN nor UNESCO ever have been interested in promoting peace – more wars have been fought and more people killed than have been saved since the UN has been established

    Shalom from beautiful Israel.
In the North – chilly weather, but UP in Jerusalem, hot rhetoric, anger and throwing shoes at Arab ignorance, which does nothing to alleviate our frustration at Arab/Muslim law-fare.
We were warned that a “tsunami’ was coming, and here we are living in the eye of the storm – history in the making.
I don’t know about the rest of you but I find it scary, but fascinating at the same time, as we are again on the round-a-bout of history and it will be interesting to see who gets dizzy first and who will fall off the edge of the world.
We have seen all our enemies crushed and disappear from the pages of history, leaving only a stain and a smear to remember them.
We do not mourn them and we shall not mourn the Arabs/Muslims as they implode- never mind their expanding numbers. 1,400 years of Shiite/Sunni Muslim hate of each other and infidels has to have some detrimental repercussions. We do not need bible predictions to see how Arab nations who hate Israel, are not “doing so well”. Europe has its own problems; and dare we preach “Hashem told you not to mess with his people” – add African countries to the list of the ones who fall under the curse of
“I shall bless …. And I shall curse” Genesis 12:3.
Greater empires than the corrupt and Allah-mad Islamists, have tried and failed to eliminate us; and yet here we still are; stronger, wiser and “at home” in our land with our magnificent Jerusalem. UNESCO ignorance aside.
We are living through scary times, but then again, when have we not?????
Be calm, Be Jewish and Be Proud.
