President Peres Sukkot Show

It happened at the second performance at the annual Sukkah Open House

on the grounds of Beit Hanasi, the official residence of the Israeli President.

President Shimon Peres was sitting on stage,

when a small gust of wind

 toppled a pot plant, an Israeli flag and the state seal on to him.

His security detail rushed over

and removed the sign from the president’s lap.

He assured everyone that he was ok,

then stood and waved to the crowd.

After fixing his hair, he replaced the comb in his pocket,

and posed on the newly rearranged stage.

And the show went on with lively song

On the way back to the residence, Peres posed for a few photos,

then proceeded inside. 

That sign that fell came way too close for comfort,

but for an 89 year old man, Shimon Peres

 responded quickly in a difficult situation.

    Oi veh, that’s awful! You’d think that after the tragic accident on Mt. Herzl of a tower falling from the stage, and especially in this windy weather we’ve been having, stage crews would have more sechel about securing objects firmly.
    President Peres is such a good sport.

    I passed by the President’s house on chol hamoed and the lines to get in were insane!

      The line was very long outside and continued inside as well.
      I got past most of it with press pass. Took photos for you and will post them asap, but with Shabat and holiday cooking, just not enough time.
